Ayer fui a una cenita con mis amigas y regrese super inspirada, entre stellaroseblog.wordpress.com y perachapita.com se encargaron de la decoración y les quedo increíble! Te das cuenta cómo detalles tan sencillos hacen una gran diferencia...


Es por eso que hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un pequeño proyecto que es muy fácil, rápido, barato, pero sobre todo divertido y le dará mucha personalidad a tu evento o patio, hoy vamos a hacer piñatas a base de linternas de papel...


Te garantizo que este proyecto lo haces en 30 minutos! Esto es lo que vas a ocupar:


Linternas de papel (las puedes comprar en www.ikea.com)
Tijeras
Resistol
Papel de china en diferentes colores
Hilo de yute (lo puedes comprar en tiendas de telas)

I went to a smal get together with my friends and came back super inspired, between stellaroseblog.wordpress.com and perachapita.com decorated the place and it looked absolutely beautiful! You realize how simple little details can make a huge difference...

That's why today I'm going to share with you a little project that's not only easy, fast and inexpensive, but it's also a lot of fun and will give tons of personality to your event or patio, today wer'e making pinata inspired paper lanterns....

I'm pretty sure you can make this project in 30 minutes, this is what you'll need...

Paper Lanterns (you can find them at www.ikea.com)

Glue

Scissors

Tissue Paper in different colors

Raw thick string

 Toma tu papel de china y dóblalo del lado mas largo. Debe quedar aproximadamente unos 4cm de largo. 

Fold your tissue paper several times. You should stop when it's approximately 3 inches high.

 Vas a empezar a cortar tu papel de LADO DEL DOBLEZ, no de la parte exterior, si no te van a quedar miles de pedacitos. No lo cortes hasta al final, deja un espacio por que ahi vas a aplicar el pegamento.

You're going to start cutting from the folded side of your paper, not the exterior side, if you cut the exterior side, your'e going to  have tons of mini paper cutouts. Don't cut out all the way because your'e going to use the end part to apply glue.

 Ya que cortaste todo tu papel, abrelo en dos partes y separa las tiras cortando cada una para que tengas tiras separadas. Cada hoja de papel te debe dar aproximadamente unas 6 a 8 tiras.

Now that you made the cutouts, open the paper and cut them separately so you have several sheets of fringed paper. Each tissue paper that you cut should give your approximately 6 to 8 teared sheets.

 Ya que tienes tus tiras, arma tu linterna de papel y empieza a pegar tu papel de china empezando por la parte de abajo. No ocupas mucho pegamento, ya que el papel de china es muy ligero y seca muy rápido, aparte corres el riesgo de que se decolore si aplicas mucho pegamento. Vete en forma circular hasta que llegues a la parte de arriba. Recuerda que puedes combinar colores...

Now that you have your fringed sheets, start by glueing down the tissue paper starting from the bottom going all the way to the top. You don't need tons of glue since tissue paper is very light and dries up fast. Repeat the process in a circular mode until you finish at the top. Remember that you can always mix colors...

Para la parte de abajo puedes cortar tiras mas largas de papel, las puedes poner en diferentes colores o uno solo y listo! ahí tienes tus piñatitas decorativas para esta temporada rica de verano!

For the bottom part you can cut longer pieces of paper, remember that you can mix the colors or just one color to make a statement, and there you have it! your perfect little piñata inspired lanterns for the upcoming summer!
