Considera el Espacio…Cómo lo vas a usar exactamente?
Hola a todos!
Ya que escogiste el estilo que te gustaría para tu casa, ahora nos toca hacernos una pregunta esencial para poder continuar con el siguiente paso; Para qué vas a usar ese espacio? De qué manera te va a beneficiar para que sea bello y práctico? Qué ocupas para que se te antoje estar ahí todo el tiempo? Todas estas preguntas las tienes que hacer antes de empezar a comprar y acomodar cosas, ya que vas a empezar a decorar sin saber exactamente cuáles son tus ncesidades. Un espacio demasiado decorado puede llegar a ser poco práctico, inclusive puede llegar a sentirse como una casa modelo, y nadie lo va a querer usar, no hay nada mas triste en el mundo del diseño que tener un espacio hermoso, pero que no se use. Recuerda que estás diseñando para que se vea bello, pero más importante, para que a TI te sirva y sea un lugar placentero.
Piensa en tu estilo de vida
Qué tipo de vida tienes? Debes ser honesta/o contigo mismo y responderte esa pregunta, esto te va ayudar para identifcar exáctamente qué ocupas. Haz una lista de las preguntas que te puedes hacer, estas pueden ser unas de ellas:
Es un área de mucha convivencia?
Eres más sencilla/o y práctica/o?
Te gusta pasar mucho tiempo en esa área?
Te gusta leer?
Tienes muchas visitas?
Tienes niños?
Tienes mascotas?
Estas son algunas de las tantas preguntas que te puedes hacer, todo se va acomodando dependiendo lo que ocupes.
Haz una lista de las cosas que sí y no te gustan…
Observa el espacio detenidamente mínimo por 15 miuntos. Haz un inventario de todo lo que tienes. En tu lista separa lo que te encanta y quieres que se quede, y lo que detestas y quieres que se vaya. Tu lista debe incluir desde los muebles, hasta las lámparas, arte, plantas, etc. Basicamente todo lo que se pueda mover. Ya que hiciste tu lista y decidas con qué te vas a quedar, empieza a despejar el espacio. Saca todas las cosas que no quieras de ahí, puedes hacer una buena causa y donar lo que no quieras, o también puedes ponerlo a la venta, http://www.craigslist.com/ es una excelente forma para vender artículos usados.
Ya que hiciste la tarea anterior, empieza por acomodar los artículos que deciste dejar. Imagínate que estás en tu área perfecta y que está exactamente como a ti te gusta que esté, todo a su alcanze pero que sea bello al mismo tiempo. Juega con los espacios, con las ubicaciones de los muebles, con los accesorios, lámparas, hasta las plantas. Estoy segura que entre tanto juego y acomadar vas a encontrar el lugar perfecto para cada cosa.

Consider the Space… What are you going to use it for?
Hello everyone!
Now that you decided what type of style you like, you have to ask yourself a very important question in order to go to the next step; What is this space intended to be used for? In what ways will this room be beautiful and useful at the same time? What does this room need in order for it to be welcoming? You have to ask yourself all of these questions before you start buying and arranging things, if you don’t do this exercise before buying things, then you’ll end up buying things that you don’t necessarily need. A space that is over decorated can be very unpractical, it can almost feel like a model home and no one will want to be there. There is nothing sadder in this world than a room that is not used. Remember that your designing a space that is beautiful, but most importantly, it’s a space for YOU so you can enjoy it.
Think of the way you live.
What type of lifestyle do you have? This will help you define exactly your necessities. You have to be very honest with yourself. Make a list of all the questions you have to ask yourself, these are some examples:
Is it a high traffic area?
Are you a practical person? Do you like the more simple things?
Do you like spending time in that area?
Do you like to read?
Do you entertain quite often?
Do you have children?
Do you have pets?
These can be a series of questions you can ask yourself. It will all fall into place once you do this exercise.
Make a list of the things you do and don’t like….
Observe the space for at least 15 minutes. Make an inventory of everything that you have, separate the things you would like to keep and the things you would like to give away or sell. Your list must include all furniture, lamps, plants, etc, basically all the things that can be moved and rearranged. Once you did your list, start clearing the room. Take out the things you decided to give/sell away, you can use it for a good cause and donate it to your local charity, or you can also sell it online, http://www.craigslist.org/ is an excellent source to sell used items.
Now that you did this exercise, start arranging all the things you decided to keep. Imagine yourself in your perfect room and everything is exactly how you like it. Everything is practical and beautiful at the same time. Play with the furniture pieces, change their location, move your accessories from one place to another, you are allowed to play with the items you decided to keep, I know you will find the perfect spot for each item.
