Enamórate de las Anitguedades... / Fall in Love with Antiques...

Excelente inicio de semana! Ya empieza el calor, qué rico! a disfrutarlo al máximo!!

Hoy les quiero contar un pequeño cuento....Había una vez hace mucho tiempo en el mundo del Diseño y Decoración cuando todo lo considerado "viejito", "vintage" y "antiguo" era un producto no grato. Sólo lo nuevo y moderno estaba considerado "in" para las casas de esa epoca...Para nuestra suerte, lo "nuevo" ya es considerado parte del pasado, de hecho, todo lo que tenga un significado importante en tu vida, aunque esté viejito, es padre incluirlo en tu decoración. Si bien es muy cierto que integrar y lograr con éxito una mezcla entre lo viejo y lo nuevo es bastante difícil, eso no quiere decir que no sea imposible. Obviamente debes tener cuidado al elegir los artículos que consideres viejos y lo que consideres moderno, el riesgo que corres es que se convierte en una mezcla difícil de digerir y confusa.

Te preguntarás, cómo puedes lograr dicho efecto? Recuerda que lo que hace moderno un espacio no es lo que le agregues, si no la combinación perfecta entre los artículos antiguos con la función del espacio. Tal vez tú no seas una chica o un chico que esté mucho tiempo en casa, pero si te encanta llegar y sentir un espacio acogedor y tranquilo, cálido. Ese efecto lo puedes adquirir combinando, por ejemplo, un librero moderno, de líneas rectas, con accesorios con más curva, más color, y colores más cálidos. 

El internet es una herramienta muy poderosa y hoy en día puedes encontrar básicamente lo que quieras, si no tienes idea cómo combinar tus artículos modernos con los antiguos, www.elledecor.com es una excelente fuente de inspiración. Claro, siempre ayuda ir a las tienditas de antiguedades, nunca sabrás que te podrás encontrar :)

Today, I'm going to tell you a story...Once upon a time in the world of Design and Decorating,  everything considered "old" "vintage" and "antique" was an item non grata. Only the new and modern were considered "in" for those type of houses...The good thing is, that the "new" is part of the past, in fact, everything that has a great part of your life, even if it's old, can be added it to your decoration. It is true that combining the old with the new can be quite difficult, it doesn't mean it's impossible though. You obviously have to know what to choose for your antiques and your new items, if you don't choose correctly, you can make something beautiful into something very confusing and overwhelming.

I bet you're asking yourself, how do I accomplish this effect? Remember that what makes a room modern it's not the item itself, it is the perfect combination between the items and the functionality of the space. You're probably not a guy or a gal that spends much time at home, but you love to get home and be in a cozy and warm space. You can create that effect by adding, for example, a simple modern bookcase, with adorable vintage pieces with beautiful colors and unique shapes. 

The internet is a great source of research and inspiration, you can literally find anything that you want.
